You may not be able to witness the Ball Drop from California, but there are still plenty of impressive shows you can experience on New Year’s Eve. Although there are numerous parties and events across the city, the following events, compiled by our Group Travel Service, are a lot more special due to their extra-sparkly factor; we’re talking about firework events. Here are some of the best places to watch fireworks on New Year’s Eve in California.
Marina Del Rey New Year’s Eve Fireworks and Glow Party
Marina Del Rey welcomes the New Year in style, starting with a free-for-all family glow party. This seaside community will experience fireworks from 9pm all the way to the New Year at midnight. Although the fireworks will be set off at the Burton Chace Park, all the restaurants around the harbor will have perfect visibility of the colorful fireworks. Some of the restaurants in the harbor area exaggerate costs on New Year’s Eve, so we suggest finding a spot along the water with a few friends/ family members or even a special someone and enjoying the view from there.
Various Restaurants
Numerous restaurants will be offering guests spectacular views of fireworks displays across California. As such, it is difficult to narrow down on one specific restaurant so we have come up with several that you can choose from. First, try the Waterbar restaurant in San Francisco, which is a high-end restaurant with a perfect view of fireworks displays; fireworks that are set off on its premises, right along the water. Epic Roasthouse restaurant is located right next to Waterbar. Epic Roasthouse has exceptionally delicious steak and a splendid view of the fireworks from Waterbar. Finally, try the Chaya Restaurant in Los Angeles. This restaurant has a French/Asian influence and it usually gives a few lucky patrons the opportunity to enjoy fireworks displays from its waterfront property; make sure you are one of them and make your reservations early.
New Year’s Eve aboard the Queen Mary
Board the Queen Mary for a 21-and-over New Year’s Eve party. This cruise has something for everyone; whether you are looking for a chilled evening with food, or you want drinks and live entertainment, or you want to dance the night away, each of these are available aboard the Queen Mary. Either way, you will get to watch the fireworks on the cruise; imagine just floating around on the water while bursts of color light up the sky and the New Year commences, it’s as magical as it can get. This party sells out quick, so make your reservations now if you don’t want to miss a spot on the legendary decks of the Queen Mary. The party starts at 8pm and ends at 1am.
EVE at Universal Studios Hollywood
Head over to the Universal Studios in Hollywood and enjoy rides as you wait for the fireworks display at night. There are three distinct party locations: the Jurassic Park, the Simpsons Plaza, and the Radio Hits in Universal Plaza. There will be beer, wine, desserts, champagne, and various desserts and snacks available for purchase for the duration of the event.
