This New Year, there is no time to waste. Grab a pen and paper and create that bucket list you have always wanted to write up. If you are anything like us, ‘Travel the World’ must be somewhere on your list. You are, however, going to need a couple of target destinations before you head out on your adventure. There are so many beautiful places to visit on the planet and it can get confusing when it comes to choosing which places to go to first and which ones to leave for later. Have no fear, our Group Travel Service understands this and we have, therefore, created a list of some of the most amazing places you can start with this year. We hope it helps. Enjoy!
Giza, Egypt
The pyramids of Giza are one of the Seven Wonders of the World. These pyramids date back to around 2,560 BC and they are still largely intact, which is what makes them so fascinating. That is almost 5,000 years ago; how did they manage to pile one-ton blocks on top of each other without modern machinery? Another fun fact about this place is that the Great Pyramid of Giza stood as the world’s tallest man-made structure for almost 4,000 years.
The Antelope Canyon, Arizona
The Antelope Canyon is a series of beautiful crevices you would think are a work of photography manipulation until you saw the Canyon for yourself. The Canyon was curved out by gradual water-erosion and the way the light hits each wall makes it seem like each wall is of a different color, creating a dazzling, picturesque display.
Great Wall, China
This extensive, man-made structure was hand-made, without the help of modern machinery. The Great Wall is just as awe-inspiring as the Great Pyramid of Giza; it stretches thousands of miles and what is even more amazing is that it was built on a mountain ridge, which must have made the project an even more challenging one.
St. Petersburg, Russia
Russia is an intriguing and mysterious place with rich history. Head over to St. Petersburg and learn about Russian culture and history. This city is home to over 200 museums, including the great State Hermitage Museum. St. Petersburg is also home to beautifully designed cathedrals, for example, the St. Paul Cathedral and the St. Mary’s Cathedral. Additionally, if you are into art, you will be thrilled to experience some of the world’s most famous ballet and art events right here.
Hong Kong, China
This is possibly one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Tourists get to ride the famous Star Ferry from Central to Tsim Sha Tsui and get to bet on horses in Happy Valley. However, if this doesn’t excite you, you could explore Central’s Hollywood Road and discover numerous Chinese antique treasures you can take back home.
